Specialized Forensic Services
As a former juvenile probation officer, and therapist highly experienced working with at-risk youth, I am in a unique position to provide qualified assessments of juveniles and young adults in the juvenile and criminal justice systems.
Specialized forensic assessment involves evaluation of youth who have come into contact with the legal system to determine their risk of future offending and inform intervention strategies.
I provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to determine if youth meet criteria for a mental health or substance use diagnosis and make recommendations for treatment and intervention.
For youth who have been charged with a violent offense I can also complete the SAVRY (Structured Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth), a comprehensive risk assessment tool designed specifically for assessing violence risk in adolescents. It considers various risk factors, protective factors, and dynamic factors that may influence a young person's likelihood of engaging in violent behavior. The assessment helps professionals in the juvenile justice system to identify individualized risk profiles and develop targeted intervention plans to address the specific needs of each youth.
Because of my experience with and passion for working with this population, I continue to engage in professional development to expand my service offerings. I encourage juvenile justice professionals including probation officers, defense attorneys, and social workers to reach out to inquire about forensic social work services.
