Personalized Trauma & Nervous System Consultation

Sometimes the most helpful first step isn’t starting therapy — it’s understanding what’s actually going on and what kind of support would help.

Many people who seek this consultation are thoughtful, high-functioning, and self-aware. They’ve often tried therapy before, questioned whether their experiences “count,” or felt unsure about committing to ongoing treatment without clarity.

This two-session consultation is designed to provide understanding without pressure.

What This Consultation Is

The Personalized Trauma & Nervous System Consultation is a stand-alone clinical service that offers a focused, trauma-informed assessment and collaborative recommendations.

It is intended to help you:

  • make sense of your experiences through a nervous system lens

  • understand patterns that may be contributing to distress

  • reduce self-blame and confusion

  • identify options for support that align with your needs

Some people use this as a one-time consultation. Others choose to continue therapy afterward — either with me or with another provider. There is no expectation or requirement to continue.

What’s Included

Session One: Comprehensive Clinical Consultation (75–90 minutes)

This session focuses on understanding the full context of what you’re experiencing, including:

  • current concerns and stressors

  • relevant life experiences and relational patterns

  • nervous system responses to stress (e.g., overwhelm, hypervigilance, shutdown)

  • strengths, coping strategies, and resilience

  • factors that may be maintaining distress

This is a collaborative, conversational session — not an interrogation or testing appointment.

Between Sessions

Following the initial consultation, time is taken to thoughtfully synthesize themes and patterns in preparation for feedback and recommendations.

Session Two: Feedback & Recommendations (45–60 minutes)

In this session, we review:

  • key themes and patterns identified

  • a nervous-system-informed understanding of what may be happening

  • strengths and adaptive strategies already in place

  • personalized recommendations for next steps

You’ll also receive a written Clinical Summary & Recommendations following this session.

Written Clinical Summary & Recommendations

You’ll receive a client-friendly written summary that includes:

  • a clear synthesis of themes and patterns

  • nervous system observations in plain language

  • strengths and protective factors

  • individualized recommendations, which may include:

    • therapy approaches to consider

    • suggested pacing (short-term vs longer-term work)

    • nervous system or lifestyle supports

    • referrals or resources, if appropriate

This document is yours to keep and use however you choose.
